Community
stewards make Canton a better place now and for future
generations, taking their payment in humble satisfaction, not
publicity or money.
Each year,
Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce recognizes the area’s unsung
heroes at its Community Salute Awards Banquet by honoring select
individuals, corporations, businesses and organizations for
outstanding contributions to the greater Canton community. This
year’s awards dinner will take place Wednesday, November 5,
at Kent State Stark Professional Education and Conference
Center, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Awards fall into
two categories: Award of Merit and Award of
Appreciation.
The Award of
Merit honors one individual for continuous civic
activity that goes beyond business or professional
responsibilities.
The Award of
Appreciation honors any or all of the following for
outstanding performance that benefits the community:

Corporations, Businesses and Organizations -- the
winner must have enhanced the welfare of Stark County Citizens
through outstanding success in business or service.
·
Individual Business Persons or Professionals --
winner must have demonstrated outstanding performance in his or
her profession, which ultimately benefits the community.
· Individuals
in Chamber of Commerce Work – winner must consistently, and for
an extended period, have demonstrated outstanding performance on
behalf of Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, producing
benefits to the civic or business community.

Individuals in Short-Term Activity – winner must
have initiated and completed a short-term activity resulting in
widespread benefit to the community.
Nominations –
due by Sept. 10-- are now being sought from Chamber members,
who are invited to submit their choice online
