On-The-Job Training Program
The On-The-Job Training (OJT)
Program operates on the premise that employers make the
best trainers for the jobs specific to their industry, and
provide the best training sites – the place where the job
will be performed. It aids employers in defraying up to 50%
of the wages paid to an employee during the training period.
In addition, all or a portion of the costs associated with
classroom training may also be incorporated into the OJT
contract. The OJT contract is meant to offset the initial
costs of training and will not necessarily cover the total
expense of training.
The employer is responsible for
the payment of wages to the employee, but upon submitting
monthly invoices the employer will be reimbursed for that
portion of the employees’ wages as agreed upon in the OJT
training contract.

Incumbent Worker Training Program
The Incumbent Worker Training
Program supports training projects that benefit local
manufacturing and healthcare businesses by assisting with
the skill development of existing employees. An incumbent
worker is an individual employed by a qualifying employers.
The benefit of this program is that it increases employee
productivity and growth of a company. The training is
expected to lead to the creation of new jobs, retention of
jobs, increased wages for better trained workers, a higher
skilled workforce and a more profitable business climate.
In addition, it enhances employees’ current skills, provides
skill sets for future jobs, introduces skills for new
technologies and new production of service procedures,
upgrades employees to new jobs that require additional
skills and eliminates skills gaps.
Funds for the program maybe
available for instructor’s/trainer’s salaries and fees,
tuition, curriculum development, textbooks, manuals,
supplies directly related to and necessary for the training
program and cost of certification and licensure. Employers
are required to contribute a percentage of the training
costs, in cash, for each project. Employers are then
reimbursed for the approved training costs after the costs
have been incurred and invoiced.
