Drum Corps
International
The 2008 Drum Corps Competition featured eight fantastic
corps and was truly a family event
filled with pageantry, precision, and
extraordinary musical talent. Canton’s
own Bluecoats competed against some of
the nation’s top-ranked corps including
the Blue Devils from Concord, CA; Blue
Stars from LaCrosse, WI; Boston
Crusaders from Boston, MA; Mandarins
from Sacramento, CA; Santa Clara
Vanguard from Santa Clara, CA; Spirit
from JSU from Jacksonville, AL; and
Troopers from Casper, WY.
In 2009 the Enshrinement Festival will
again join forces with the Bluecoats
Drum and Bugle Corps to stage one of
Drum Corps International's SUMMER MUSIC
GAMES competitions. Some of the
nation’s top corps will provide
pageantry and precision for a crowd of
more than 8,000 spectators at Paul Brown
Tiger Stadium in Massillon Ohio. The
highly disciplined youth involved in
drum corps will compete in approximately
50 shows per summer season, sleep on
their buses or gym floors, and endure
rigorous practice schedules to present
an exciting performance to the fans
night after night. These dedicated
youngsters promise to give you their
best in drum corps entertainment, so
don’t miss what will be an evening you
won’t soon forget!!!
