QUEEN PAGEANT

The 2010 Queen Pageant will be held on Thursday, May 13th at the historical Canton Palace Theatre.  Contestants will be competing for the honor of being chosen Queen or a member of the Court to represent Stark County and the surrounding area as a goodwill ambassador and role model.  Click here for the 2009 results.

Each year, a Queen and Court members are selected, with the number coinciding with the number in the new class of Enshrinees to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  The Queen and Court members are chosen on the basis of personality, poise, beauty, communication skills, academic achievement, and service to community.  The lucky winners are the recipients of an abundance of gifts from generous community sponsors.

Throughout the summer, the Queen and Court participate in a wide variety of activities with civic organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Turnaround Community Outreach Center, MRDD, Mercy Medical Peace Camp, Hammers and Nails and many more.  Additionally, they greet thousands of guests and participants at the 19 events that take place during the 10-day Enshrinement Festival.  One of the most memorial experiences for the Queen and Court is always their ride on the float in the Timken Grand Parade.

All potential contestants are invited to attend the second annual “Screen the Queen Pageant” session on Saturday, February 27, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM at the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce.  This session will help young ladies decide if they would like to enter the Pageant by giving them the opportunity to review the 2009 Pageant DVD, ask questions about the process, and hear from previous judges and winners.  The informal and informative session is free, but reservations must be made in advance by calling Tonya Stuck at 330.458.2052.
