Malone hosts Creative Writing Event
The Malone University College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences � Department of Language and Literature, Creative Writing program will host its inaugural benefit reading on Wednesday, February 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Alumni Chapel of the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts, located at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. The program � titled, �The Game Is Always Afoot! Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle, and The Baker Street Irregulars� -- will feature Michael Dirda, Pulitzer Prize-winning critic for The Washington Post, and author of the 2012 Edgar Award-winning On Conan Doyle. A question and answer period with Dirda will follow. Proceeds will benefit and support student programing and the Program in Creative Writing. Dirda�s book will be available for purchase. Tickets cost $50 per person and include a full course Victorian London-themed meal, prepared by Executive Chef Brian Gulu.
