ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:

Rich Desrosiers was named executive editor of GateHouse Ohio Media in August 2015, returning to The Repository, where he began his career in newspapers 30 years previously. Desrosiers joined The Repository as a sports reporter shortly after graduating from the University of Akron in 1985. A few years later, he moved into a new role as the primary designer of the newspaper's front pages.

In 1994, Desrosiers left Canton to join the staff at the Akron Beacon Journal as a national news editor. He soon began designing pages for the Beacon, a job he held until Jan. 1, 2000, when he was named editor of the newspaper's Stark County Bureau until that office was shuttered in 2004. Over the past 11 years, he was sports editor, then metro and business editor.

Desrosiers, 51, and his wife, Anne, are longtime residents of Lake Township. They have three adult children.
