An Evening with Underdog Legend Rudy
Join motivational speaker and underdog legend Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger on October 24th for the latest season of the Speaking of Books Author Series. His book, Rudy: My Story, chronicles the former Notre Dame football player’s story of fierce determination and the twenty-seven seconds that changed his life.
It took years of fierce determination to overcome obstacles and criticisms, yet Rudy achieved his dream— to attend Notre Dame and play football for the Fighting Irish. As fans cheered, he sacked the quarterback in his only play in the only game of his college football career. In 1993, his life story was immortalized with the blockbuster film, RUDY.
The author will speak about his book, followed by a wide-ranging question and answer session. The evening will end with a book signing and Friends of the Library volunteers will have copies available for purchase if you don’t yet own a copy.
Rudy’s book is also this year’s One Book, One Community Stark County selection.
