The Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Canton Regional Chapter of SCORE have announced they are joining forces to launch a new program exclusively for Canton Regional Chamber members: the Small Business Growth Network (SBGNET).
Together, the organizations are working as a one-stop resource partner dedicated to the formation, growth, and success of entrepreneurs and small businesses. The SBGNET is a team of 35 working and retired executives and business owners who provide confidential, real-world business advice to members of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, all free of charge.
“We’re excited to offer this program to our membership, whether they’re interested in growing an existing business or launching a new one from scratch,” said Dennis P. Saunier, president and CEO of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce. “The Small Business Growth Network is an outgrowth of our commitment to provide valuable services for small businesses, which are the backbone of our membership and business community.”
“Our mission is simple: to provide expert advice to startup and existing small businesses,” said Ed Messerly, Chairman of the Canton Regional SCORE Chapter. “SCORE’s access to business expertise, combined with the Chamber’s focus on serving the local business community, makes the Small Business Growth Network an ideal collaboration for our organizations.”
SBGNET’s volunteer counselors provide a wide variety of business expertise, including:
• Preparing written business and marketing plans
• Determining type of business and location
• Taking the proper steps to secure a loan
• Understanding business law
• Troubleshooting existing business challenges
• Improving cash flow
• Growing existing businesses
• Conducting exclusive business seminars and workshops
Members who wish to participate in the program can simply contact the Small Business Growth Network, at which time they will be matched with an appropriate SBGNET volunteer based on their business needs.
