Canton Farmers' Market to Hold 2nd Annual Family & Pet Health Day this Saturday
The Canton Farmers’ Market will hold its 2nd annual Family & Pet Health Day this Saturday, July 18. The market is proud to partner with Aultman Hospital, Dr. Julia Morrow (Veterinarian) and the Canton City Health Department (WIC Program) for a morning full of wellness and fun. As a sponsor of the market, the Aultman WOW van (short for Working on Wellness) will present their “Farmer and the WOW” program throughout the morning which provides free blood pressure, weight and BMI screenings, in addition to health education for both children and adults. Aultman nurses will be available for one-on-one health consultations. In addition, an Aultman nurse will speak on the ‘Safe Sleep for Babies’ campaign. At the market, pet owners and enthusiasts can learn more about Aultman’s Happy Tails volunteer program, where specially trained dogs and their handlers bring joy to hospitalized patients. Dr. Julia Morrow’s Mobile Family Pet Vet will also be on-site to answer pet questions and give a tour of the mobile vet clinic. Additionally, representatives from the local WIC program will be on site. As always, the market will be full of fresh, local fruits, vegetables, baked goods, artisan breads, meats, cheeses, flowers, and more - all available for purchase. The Canton Farmers’ Market is held in the Timken High School administrative building parking lot, located at the corner of Fourth St. NW and McKinley Ave. NW, 8:00-11:30am, every Saturday through Oct. 17.
