Canton Inc. magazine highlights local business and economic development
CANTON, OH (July 16, 2012) - Stark County businesses and economic development are the focus of Canton Inc., a new specialty magazine produced in a collaborative effort by the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and GateHouse Ohio Media, parent company of The Repository. The magazine boasts the best of the business landscape in Stark County, and includes feature stories on education, transportation, health care, quality of life in the region and more. “We and our partners at The Repository hope to attract new businesses, increase business growth here in our community, and change the local perception of our region,” said Dennis P. Saunier, president and CEO for the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce. More than 5,000 copies have been distributed to date, through economic development partners, site selectors and other entities that can help entice businesses of all sizes to choose the Canton/Stark County region for doing business. The cover story of this inaugural issue focuses on energy — wind power, fuel cells, fresh water supply and oil and gas exploration. Stark County already has established itself as a center for energy. Now, Canton and the region have been recently branded The Utica Capital™, as oil and gas exploration in the region’s Utica Shale deposits could affect every aspect of business here.
