What’s next for Canton: The Comprehensive Plan

In order to have a thriving Stark County, you need a thriving center city. Whether you live in North Canton, Jackson, or Navarre, it’s essential to know how a strong center city is important to the growth of your own community.

At our Brown Bag Lunch on February 18, learn what’s ahead for Canton in the city’s first new comprehensive plan in 50 years.

  • Hear details on the recommended strategies and expected outcomes to the Comprehensive Plan.
  • Learn how Canton’s geographic, economic, and cultural growth interacts with surrounding communities.

Our featured speaker is Joel Owens, policy consultant for Community Building Partnership of Stark County. Joel is a national community development practitioner and consultant with over 25 years of experience in areas including Massillon, Barberton, Cleveland, and Baltimore. Joel has a MA in City and Regional Planning, with a specialty in community economic development from Pratt Institute in New York City, a BS in Psychology from Malone College, as well as being a graduate of the Development Training Institute’s National Internship in Community Economic Development.
