First Friday -The First Friday of Each Month
Celebrating its 9th anniversary this year is “First Friday” - a monthly downtown street party hosted by the Canton Arts District featuring themed music, performance and visual arts events, delicious food from local restaurants, and always a few surprises for adults and children. First Friday is primarily a self-guided tour of local art galleries, studios, stores and restaurants. Each month there’s a unique theme, like the annual “Chalk the Walk” theme in July, which features artists (and amateur artists alike!) transforming our sidewalks with pastel sketches.
With an average attendance of over 1,000 people, and dozens of participating venues, there’s something for newcomers and regulars alike.
