CANTON, OH (May 1, 2009) - In 2009, the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Enshrinement Festival will mark the 46th anniversary of honoring the legends of professional football. The world-renowned Enshrinement Festival celebrates the annual enshrinement of football players, coaches and contributors into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

All the excitement of this "One of a Kind Celebration" and a complete schedule of events are captured in the 2009 Enshrinement Festival brochure. The brochure is now available at these locations: Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, Pro Football Hall of Fame Museum, Canton and Massillon Auto Clubs, the Visitors' Information Center on Fulton Road, at Akron-Canton Airport, and other locations throughout the community. Individuals and area businesses and organizations are encouraged to pick up brochures at the Canton Chamber for distribution to family, friends, customers and clients.

The collaborative efforts of the professional staffs at the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the dedicated team of more than 4,200 volunteers, will ensure the success of 15 unique events over a 10-day period from July 31 to Aug. 9, 2009. The central focus and highlight of the festivities will be the Aug. 8 induction ceremony for the 2009 Class of Enshrinees, comprised of wide receiver Bob Hayes, guard Randall McDaniel, defensive end Bruce Smith, linebacker Derrick Thomas, owner Ralph Wilson, Jr., and defensive back Rod Woodson.

The Enshrinement Festival activities, attended by nearly 700,000 people, are expected to produce an economic impact of approximately $30 million for the Canton/Stark County area, and $50 million for the State of Ohio. In addition, millions will experience aspects of the Enshrinement Festival as events are televised and covered by other media.
