Get Involved with ystark!

How can you get involved?

Getting involved in ystark! can range from attending our events to serving on one of our committees or becoming a ystark! Ambassador. It's up to you to get as involved as you would like, so we have designed a wide variety of events and volunteer opportunities for you to choose from, not to mention all of the things happening in Stark County that you can get involved in.

Want to get more involved with ystark!?
Check out our committees and our Ambassador Program. Our committees provide input to help guide the ystark! actions and goals. We're the collective voice of engaged YPs - make sure you're being heard!

There are many ways to get engaged beyond just joining the network. Let us know what you’d like to be more involved in, but keep in mind that there are only so many openings to help out at ystark! and we can’t guarantee you’ll get to participate right away!

ystark! has several committees and an Ambassador Program. Keep reading for more details:

Our Business Outreach Committee works with local Stark County businesses to communicate our presence and introduce management to ystark! efforts. The committee works together with area businesses to help attract and retain YP talent to Canton/Stark County, and develops unique programs to support businesses of all sizes in building a talented workforce.

This is a major core competency of our organization and is one of the things that really sets ystark! apart. The Events Committee is in charge of planning all of our social and networking events. We offer everything from monthly after hours meet-ups to fun gatherings for families, as well as large-scale shindigs like the Twenty under 40! gala.

Let's be frank, it takes money to make a good thing happen! If we can have fun while raising those dollars, well...that's fundraising! The Fundraising Committee is charged with creating new and innovative concepts to collect contributions for our numerous economic and community initiatives. The committee's signature task is facilitating our annual Fund Drive every spring. We hope all YPs, businesses and community members will be generous throughout the year if they believe in our efforts and see the value in what we give back to the future of Canton/Stark County.

There isn't much we can say about the PerplexCity Committee without breaking our confidentiality agreement. They execute the annual city/region-wide scavenger hunt. But it's not your average scavenger hunt; we'll have you dancing, singing, doing physical challenges, solving mind puzzles and more. It is a great networking and team-building exercise. We think we've said too much already, stay tuned in the fall when PerplexCity strikes again!

As part of our initiative to ensure we have the brightest and best workforce, we aim to educate and develop our members through our CEO Meet&Eats, Wellspring unSpeaker Series and Wellspring To-Go. This committee is charged with coordinating those speakers, topics and venues to build the best workforce for our region.

Perhaps the event of all events for ourselves and many in the community, Twenty under 40! is a partnership between ystark! and The Repository. This gala evening recognizes twenty individuals under the age of forty.

A fashion show and then some, that is the only way to describe Wear & Share. It includes several clothing and fashion show related activities to promote reusability and recycling, while connecting non-profits, business, art and environment into one unique event. Stay tuned for this annual event to repeat again near Earth Day.
