Girls on the Run of Stark County (GOTR Stark) and the Second Sole Made in America Half Marathon (MIA Half) are proud to announce a new partnership. The MIA Half is now the official fall event for Girls on the Run SoleMates. On Sunday, November 8th, GOTR SoleMates—the official endurance fundraising team of Girls on the Run of Stark County—will run the scenic Made in America half marathon on the Towpath trail to raise funds to inspire young girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident. Motivated by more than 800 girls projected to take part in Girls on the Run of Stark County’s positive youth development programs in spring 2016, SoleMates are on a mission to accomplish so much more than “just” complete a race. These determined athletes are raising funds to ensure that every girl across Stark County can participate in the GOTR Stark program, regardless of financial need. As part of the new partnership, SoleMates will enjoy special incentives, including a VIP tent and bag check, discounts on the MIA Half, a personalized fundraising website, training plans, group runs, and more. Impulse Training will be hosting the Fall SoleMates Kickoff on August 11. The event will include a Yoga Flow for Runners session with Exhale Yoga, followed by a discussion on cross-training for runners presented by Impulse Training. Participants will then have a chance to learn about SoleMates, and the first 15 participants at the event will receive a goody bag provided by Athleta, a national sponsor of SoleMates.
