CANTON, OH (July 18, 2011) The Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Drum Corps International Competition will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massillon. The competition will be hosted by the Enshrinement Festival department of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Canton’s Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. The stadium will open at 5:30 p.m., with a pre-show at 6:30 p.m., and the first corps stepping off at 7 p.m. The Drum Corps Competition will feature eight corps, including six of the top twelve in the nation, and is truly a family event filled with pageantry, precision, and extraordinary musical talent. Competing against Canton’s own Bluecoats will be some of the nation’s top-ranked corps, including (in alphabetical order): Blue Knights from Denver, Colo., Boston Crusaders from Boston, Mass., The Cadets from Allentown, Pa., Crossmen from San Antonio, Texas, Phantom Regiment from Rockford, Ill., Santa Clara Vanguard from Santa Clara, Calif., and Troopers from Casper, Wyo. After winning the 2009 show for the first time in 21 years, the Bluecoats won again in 2010, and local fans are hoping for a “three-peat” this year. Premium reserved seats are $24 in advance and $26 at the gate. Reserved seats are $19 in advance and $21 at the gate. General admission is $15 and $17 at the gate for adults, and $8 and $10 at the gate for children 12 and under. The stadium’s box office will open at noon the day of the competition.
