CANTON, OH (January 9, 2012) – Leadership Stark County will offer a "Better Boardsmanship" training seminar on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for members of local non-profit boards, agency staff and interested community members. The seminar is being offered to ensure that non-profit agencies and their board members have access to best practices and current trends.
The seminar includes three sessions:
* The Dynamics of Focused Discussions, presented by John Spitzer, rabbi emeritus, Temple Israel
* The Role of the Board, presented by Elizabeth Voudouris, Business Volunteers Unlimited
* Legal Responsibilities of Board Service, presented by Randy Snow, Black McCuskey Law Firm.
Also attending the seminar will be younger professionals, age 24-34, from Leadership’s 2011 Spotlight Stark County program who were recently matched with a local non-profit for a one-year board shadowing experience.
Registration is $15 for individuals and $45 for three or more attendees from the same agency. The event is being held at The Timken Company in Canton. For more information, and to register online, visit LeadershipStarkCounty.org.
