Malone Pioneers Help the Homeless
The Malone University Pioneer baseball team is collaborating with the YWCA Emergency Shelter program, area moving companies, and Chick-fil-A restaurant in an all out effort to help greater Canton area individuals transition out of emergency housing. Collection day is scheduled for Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone wishing to make a donation must live in Stark County and schedule in advance for a home pick-up time by calling the Canton YWCA at 330.453.7644. Members of the baseball team will provide the âï¿½ï¿½muscle,âï¿½ï¿½ volunteering their time to carry, load, and unload larger items. Buckeye/Richards Moving, M. Conley Company, and DeHoff Realtors are providing vans and drivers for the day. Chick-fil-A is donating lunch tickets to help feed the team. Items will be taken to the YWCAâï¿½ï¿½s warehouse and later distributed to persons as they transition from the emergency shelter to more permanent housing.
