Malone to Host One Book - One Community
Malone University will host three of the upcoming events revolving around the 2011 One Book / One Community �read� � The Disappearing Man, the remarkable � and yet true � story by Doug Peterson about enslaved Henry �Box� Brown, who mailed himself to freedom in 19th century Virginia. All events are free, open to the public, and take place in the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts, located at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton, OH. Events include: Tues., Oct. 4, 7 p.m. : Kick-off with author Doug Peterson presentation and book signing Wed., Oct. 12, 7 p.m.: Round table discussion of Civil War and slavery issues Thurs., Oct. 27, 7 p.m. Screening of film adaptation based on "The Disappearing Man," produced by local filmmakers Frank Motz and Don Jones.
