Malone to host symposium for Friends Church
. Malone University will host a bicentennial symposium in conjunction with the University's founding denomination: the Evangelical Friends Church � Eastern Region's 200th anniversary. The two-day academic symposium will take place Thursday, July 19, at the historical Ohio Yearly Meeting House in Mt. Pleasant, and on July 20 at Malone University in Canton. Thomas D. Hamm, professor of history, curator of Friends' collection at Earlham College, will be the keynote speaker both days. Jay Riley Case, professor of history at Malone University, will deliver the address on Thursday, July 19. The symposium will recognize and consider the historical role and place of Friends in Ohio and the trans-Appalachian West, particularly the Holiness-evangelical branch of Friends.
