Meet Legendary Cleveland Browns Quarterback Bernie Kosar
Join Stark Library for the return of the Dr. Audrey Lavin Speaking of Books Author Series. The kick-off speaker is legendary Cleveland Browns quarterback, Bernie Kosar. He will share his experiences on and off the field on September 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Canton Palace Theatre.
Kosar, who earned a Super Bowl ring with the Dallas Cowboys in 1993, spent nine seasons playing for the Browns, leading them to three AFC Championship games. He also set a league record by throwing 308 consecutive passes without an interception, and set a record for consecutive playoff games with at least three touchdown passes. He also played for the Miami Dolphins before retiring in 1996.
His autobiography, Learning to Scramble, is an unvarnished and completely authentic account of an extremely talented man’s ability to learn from his mistakes and develop new ways of approaching life. Chronicling his rise to prominence as the leader of the University of Miami’s first national championship team, and then to glory in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, the ride was not smooth or without a cost.
The Dr. Audrey Lavin Speaking of Books Author Series brings acclaimed writers to Stark County who inspire lively discussion and community conversation while exemplifying literary excellence. It is named for Dr. Audrey Lavin, a local “celebrity” author, a globe-trotting academic, a champion of writers, and a tireless supporter of the Library. The 2018-2019 season includes four special evenings planned at the Canton Palace Theatre.
Each bestselling author will speak about their book, followed by a wide-ranging question and answer session. Bernie will not be signing memorabilia or books at the event. Pre-signed books will be available for purchase courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
Reserve your free seats to any of the author events at StarkLibrary.org/SpeakingofBooks.
