CANTON, OH (Aug. 10, 2010) – The Canton Farmers’ Market returns home to downtown Canton this week from its special Aultman Hospital location. This Saturday, Aug. 14, is the last in the series of the free drumming sessions led by Elec Simon. The drumming session runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and is designed for kids (of all ages). Participants are encouraged to bring their own drums, but buckets and drumsticks will be available for those without. Three drumming sessions have taken place so far and quite a crowd joins Simon as he leads the group through various rhythms. Drummers of every skill level have participated and this opportunity exists for only one more Saturday. The following week (Aug. 21) the Canton Farmers’ Market will host its first-ever Food Sculpting Invitational, a fruit and vegetable carving contest. Three professional chefs will carve a mountain of fruits and vegetables into incredible designs and shapes beginning at 8 a.m. Customers can take home food after we crown our first ever market carving champion. Other market events include children’s art classes, chair massage, art displays, gardening tips and live music. Check the website for the complete schedule. The Canton Farmers’ Market is located at Cleveland Ave. N, between 4th & 5th Sts. NW and is held every Saturday through October 16th from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., rain or shine.
