BIO: De Ann M. Williams
De Ann, a Massillon native, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1986. Completing boot camp at Fort McClelland, Alabama and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. She served in the 573rd Personnel Support Division (Fort Clayton, Panama) IMCOM (Fort Detrick, Maryland) Airborne School (Fort Benning, Georgia) XVIII Airborne Corps (Fort Bragg, North Carolina); 82nd Airborne Division (Saudi Arabia); and 8th Personnel Support Command (Camp Coiner, Korea). She completed her active duty service obligation in 1994 and six years later, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserve, and proudly served with the Judge Advocates Generals Corps, with independent duty assignment with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion TWENTY-SIX (NMCB 26). She was deployed 2006-2007 (authorized Seabee Combat Warfare Badge) and, again, 2012-2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After three deployments and 23 years of honorable service, she retired in 2015, as a Legalman Senior Chief Petty Officer.
De Ann has almost two decades of experience as a veteran’s advocate working with various county Veterans Service Commission Offices in Ohio: Cuyahoga County (Veterans Service Officer), Ottawa County (Executive Director), Ohio Department of Veterans Services (Deputy Director), and finally Stark County as Executive Director.
