At the Stark County Safety Council Luncheon on July 12, attorney Gust Callas of Black McCuskey Souers & Arbaugh will share ways to reduce risks for your company. ABOUT THE SPEAKER Callas is the only Dual Certified Specialist in Ohio in Labor & Employment Law and Workers’ Compensation Law in Stark County and surrounding areas. He has lectured for continuing legal education programs and conducts training programs for businesses and trade organizations nationwide. Callas currently serves as coordinator for the Labor & Employment Service Group of the firm. He is also a member of the firm’s Litigation & Workers’ Compensation Service Groups. He has extensive experience in litigation and particular specialty in the defense and counseling of clients in employment-related matters. He has successfully argued cases before the Ohio Supreme Court, as well as the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He received both his law degree and undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Akron, receiving both degrees with the highest honors. His background in accounting has assisted him in commercial litigation, as well as corporate practice. Callas served as past president and board member of the University of Akron, School of Law, Law Alumni Association. He is recognized by his peers as one of the preeminent lawyers in his field, having received an AV Peer-Review Rating from Martindale-Hubble, and has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer for nine years from 2004-2012. In addition, he was named to the Ohio Top 100 List for 2012 for Labor & Employment and selected for inclusion in the Super Lawyers Business Edition, a national publication, from 2010-2012.
