Taste of Canton is back for a second helping on May 27
CANTON, OHIO (April 27, 2010) – Taste of Canton, a downtown food festival now in its second year, will be held on Thursday, May 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the Kresge Lot in downtown Canton. This incredible spring festival, featuring local flavor and local fare, is brought to you by the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and The Repository. Stark County food enthusiasts will enjoy an expanded event at this year’s Taste of Canton, including more seating, a greater variety of restaurants and more entertainment. Best of all, it is all happening in the beautiful downtown Canton cityscape! Guests will get a true taste of Canton as more than 30 restaurants from Stark County, including 356 Fighter Group, Almost Heaven Ice Cream, Angello's, Bender's Tavern, Iris Downtown, Old Carolina Barbecue and many more, showcase their delicacies in the form of small sample plates, available for $2 to $6 each. Selections will include appetizers, entrees and desserts from a variety of cuisines. In addition to these delicious “tastes” of Canton, the event boasts fine wines and beers. The delectable local fare comes complete with local entertainment from the likes of Jeff Poulos and the Blues Revue and The Speedbumps, along with other performers throughout the afternoon and evening. Guests can enjoy the local flavor along with local art by strolling the artist’s row. Many of your First Friday favorites will be on-hand throughout the day! Whether you are heading downtown for family-friendly fun, or looking for a night out, it’s going to be a don’t-miss downtown event! All dishes will be purchased with Taste of Canton coins, sold individually for $1 per coins and redeemed at each vendor booth. Coins can be purchased onsite the day of the event, or in advance until May 26 at all seven Fishers Foods locations, the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, or online at CantonChamber.org. Buy before the day of the event, and you’ll receive 30 coins for just $25! Taste of Canton will be held rain or shine, and the entire Kresge Lot will be tented for the occasion.
