Edward M. Marszal, PE, ISA84 Expert
BIO: Mr. Marszal is an ISA84 Expert and the President and CEO of Kenexis. Mr. Marszal has over twenty years of experience in risk analysis and the design and implementation of engineered safeguards, such as safety instrumented systems, relief systems, alarm systems, and fire and gas systems for the oil & gas industry globally.
Mr. Marszal began his career with UOP, a licensor of process units to the petroleum and petrochemical industries, where he performed field verification of control and safety instrumented systems at customer sites, and designed and managed development of custom control and SIS projects. After leaving UOP, Mr. Marszal led a number of risk analysis / engineered safeguard consulting teams culminating in the establishment of Kenexis. Mr. Marszal is committed to providing education on chemical process loss prevention. He is a prolific teacher, author, and lecturer.
Mr. Marszal is a Senior Member of the ISA and serves on the SP84, SP18, and SP91 committees. Mr. Marszal is a past Director of the ISA Safety & Security Division. Mr. Marszal is also a senior Member of the AiChE and a guest alumni lecturer at The Ohio State University.
Mr. Marszal holds a B.S., Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University. He is a 1992 Registered Professional Engineer (Control Systems), State of Illinois, and the State of Ohio. Ed is a Certified Functional Safety Expert, TU?V and an ISA84 Expert.
PRODUCT MANAGER, NATURAL GAS
Colette oversees our Infrastructure Intelligence products and keeps an eye on project timelines, construction status, and regulatory approvals, all of which impact natural gas movement across North America. She diversified our surveillance and introduced aerial flyovers for assessing not only project status, but also potential root causes of infrastructure failures, giving us an edge in monitoring recently completed projects that may be at risk. Colette is currently tracking construction progress of Columbia Gas’ Mountaineer XPress pipeline, a key transportation highway for much-needed natural gas supply in the US, and is closely monitoring the buildout of pipelines in the Permian. She is an academically trained geologist and prior to joining the natural gas team here, worked with the U.S. Forest Service conducting climate change research through stream temperature data analysis. She has a BS in Geology from Pacific Lutheran University and a MS in Earth Science from Boise State University.
Commercial Development Manager, Marathon Pipe Line LLC
BIO: Jason Stechschulte graduated from Trine University in Angola, Indiana, with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering in 2003. He joined Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) in 2003 as a pipeline engineer in Findlay, Ohio. Throughout his career at MPC, he has held various engineering, operations, and commercial positions in the marketing and transportation engineering, transportation and logistics, and pipeline organizations. In August 2016, Stechschulte assumed his current position where he leads commercial and engineering development of growth projects, including within the Utica shale, for Marathon Pipe Line LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum Corporation. In his current role, he manages commercial growth opportunities for Marathon Pipe Line LLC and MPLX LP. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Ohio.
Government Affairs Representative for WV and OH - MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P.
Tina M. Rush is the Local Government Affairs Representative for West Virginia, and Ohio, representing MarkWest Energy, a subsidiary of MPLX LP. She works with local government officials, non-profit organizations and community members in areas where MPLX operates.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Rush worked at the company’s Mobley Complex in Wetzel County, West Virginia.
Ms. Rush currently serves on the board of directors for the Women’s Energy Network of West Virginia, The Northern Panhandle Workforce Development Board, as well as the Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce. She is active in her community and volunteers with several groups.
Ms. Rush is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Southern Wesleyan University in South Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management.

Chief, Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management
BIO: When Rick Simmers became chief of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management in late 2011, he said his goal was “to effectively and fairly regulate the industry and, above all else, ensure that public safety and protection of the environment are foremost.”
A Stark County native and resident of Lake Township, Simmers began working for the Oil and Gas Program in 1985 as a staff geologist and ground water investigator. In 1987 he was promoted to Northeast Ohio enforcement administrator for 19 counties. From 1994 to 1996, Simmers also served as acting Chief for the Division of Oil and Gas. When the division merged with the Reclamation program to become the Division of Mineral Resources Management in 2000, Simmers assumed responsibility for supervising all field enforcement activities across the state.
Simmers earned both a master of science degree and bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Akron. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Akron. He serves serving as Ohio’s representative to the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, Simmers has also served on the Ground Water Protection Council.

BIO: Mr. Atme officially joined Encino as Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for managing marketing and midstream operations, after working with Encino as a consultant since 2016. Prior to joining Encino Energy, Mr. Atme lead the marketing and midstream operations for Range Resources. Prior to Range, Mr. Atme worked at Spectra Energy in operations, corporate development, and business development across multiple assets and regions in North America. Mr. Atme holds an MBA from Rice University in Houston and a Mechanical Engineering degree from McMaster University in Canada and is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
