Meredith Willson�s famous The Music Man is a joyful, totally American show with an upbeat love story and happy music. Voices of Canton (VOCI) will perform the concert version of this musical, starring the entire VOCI chorus. Special Guests Kathy Catazaro-Perry, Janet Creighton, and Pam Cook will each make a guest appearance. The Music Man opened on December 19, 1957 at the Majestic Theatre, and remained there for three years until moving to Broadway. It was performed 1,375 times, before closing in 1961. It was adapted for film in 1962, starring Robert Preston and Shirley Jones, and adapted for TV in 2003 starring Matthew Broderick and Kristin Chenoweth. VOCI, then known as Canton Civic Opera, performed The Music Man in 1963 and 1982.
