CANTON, OH (Aug. 2, 2012) – Vicky Sterling, the 2012 chairman of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Ribs Burnoff Committee, has announced that Armadillo's BBQ Company has won First Place for Most Outstanding Ribs for the SEVENTH YEAR in a row. In addition, Armadillo BBQ Company has also won this year's People's Choice Award. The following is a complete list of the 2012 Ribs Burnoff Competition winners:

First Place Winner: Most Outstanding Ribs; $2,500 Prize Armadillo’s BBQ Company, Youngstown, Ohio

Second Place Winner: Mayor’s Award; $1,000 Prize Grillin & Chillin, Lorain, Ohio

Best Sauce Award Winner; $500 Prize Two Fat Guys, Canton, Ohio

People’s Choice Award Winner Armadillo’s BBQ Company, Youngstown, Ohio

The 2012 HOFEF Ribs Burnoff Competition included 11 local and national rib contenders and 75 judges. Five area professional chefs served as judges in selecting the Best Sauce Award winner. The People’s Choice Award winner was selected based on surveys taken by an anonymous, independent group who surveyed more than 1,700 members of the general public at the event to determine the best ribs at the Ribs Burnoff according to the populous. In addition to fantastic ribs, the annual HOFEF Ribs Burnoff features specialty foods, fun family activities and live music from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily. The Ribs Burnoff continues tonight, Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Stark County Fairgrounds, with a live performance from country artist Jason Michael Carroll. The Ribs Burnoff concludes Friday, Aug. 3, with an evening performance from Saving Abel. Concerts begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. Free, standing room only will be permitted on the track, but chairs or seating of any kind on the track is not permitted. Great seats are still available in the grandstands for very affordable prices. General Admission seating in the grandstands (bleacher style) will be offered at only $5 per ticket, and Reserved Admission seating (seats with backs) will be offered at $9 per ticket. Admission to the Ribs Burnoff is free. Onsite parking at the fairgrounds will be free each day until 4 p.m., after which time a fee of $5 per vehicle will be charged.
