Why are you interested in Stark County’s Young Professionals initiative?

Meeting and collaborating with other young professionals is so enjoyable, and the connections that are made help not only each young professional, but the community as well.

What would you share to encourage other people to join?

You will be meeting other like minded people who also wish to make connections and are open to talking to new people. Growing your network is so helpful personally and professionally.

Did you grow up in Stark? If so, where? If not, where did you move from and why?

I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Springfield, Massachusetts. I had worked in Stark County to help my company's expansion into Northeast Ohio and when the opportunity came to relocate I was happy to take it based on my great experiences here.

Why do you stay in Stark County, from both a personal and professional point of view?

It is a very good place to raise our two sons. The value we get between a low cost of living and plenty of amenities and opportunities is excellent.

What do you like MOST about Stark County?

There are so many different things to do here, that cater to all different tastes. It is amazing how much is going on yet with a more relaxed and down to earth feel than in a larger city.

What would you change about Stark County if you could?

Stop the opiate epidemic that affects not only Stark County but so many other communities in Ohio and in America.

What do you see as valuable opportunities for YPs in Stark County when it comes to career opportunities, cultural access, leadership or community involvement opportunities?

I see a growing realization among companies and community groups that as Baby Boomer workers retire, they need to find younger people to step in and take positions, including leadership roles, to continue their mission and keep them going. Building your network is so important to ensure that you can be aware of and considered for these opportunities.

What would attract more YPs to Stark County?

Promoting the opportunities that exist here and connecting employers with potential employees.

What do you do in the evenings or on the weekends for fun in Stark County or NE Ohio?

I enjoy going to community events and service events with organizations I belong to. On weekends my wife and I like to take my kids to one of the many parks in Louisville and do outdoor activities together.

Could you see yourself spending your lifetime in Stark County and if not, what would cause you to leave?

Absolutely, I am honored to call Stark County home!
