Why are you interested in Stark County’s Young Professionals initiative? |
Stark County has always been home to me! While participating in the Stark County Leadership Signature program this year I have learned so much about the community, it’s assets, plans for the future, weaknesses, and diversities and I want to share that with others! |
What would you share to encourage other people to join? |
The value of a community personally and professionally! |
Did you grow up in Stark? If so, where? If not, where did you move from and why? |
Yes, I grew up in Canal Fulton and now I live in Plain Township close to Walsh University! |
Why do you stay in Stark County, from both a personal and professional point of view? |
Stark County is one of a kind! I feel that Stark County maintains the feeling of being a “small community” with huge resources and assets personally and professionally. |
What do you like MOST about Stark County? |
The community mindedness and willingness to work together within Stark County to make it a better place. |
What would you change about Stark County if you could? |
This is a tough question, while Stark County has a lot of strengths, we do have some weaknesses. I would encourage more people to become involved in what they are passionate about! We have a lot of organizations and people that are in need in one way or another and I think we have people to help them, we just aren’t good at connecting them or driving the push for that help! |
What do you see as valuable opportunities for YPs in Stark County when it comes to career opportunities, cultural access, leadership or community involvement opportunities? |
Stark County has something for everyone and I believe that is our biggest draw! We have small town pocket communities, the revival of downtown Canton, shopping galore, dining, arts, sports, technology, education, etc. The sky is the limit but we aren’t good at sharing this information. |
What would attract more YPs to Stark County? |
There are a quite a few large organizations in our area that are reputable and able to draw YPs to Stark County but there are also quite a few small niche type organizations doing really cool things! I think if we could make some type of collaterals to share, it would help get the word out! |
What do you do in the evenings or on the weekends for fun in Stark County or NE Ohio? |
My husband and I love to visit local wineries, breweries, and restaurants! We enjoy going to a lot of the local festivals, farmers markets, crafts shows etc! |
Could you see yourself spending your lifetime in Stark County and if not, what would cause you to leave? |
Yes |
