Why are you interested in Stark County’s Young Professionals initiative?

Connecting, collaborating, and continuously learning. These three items are important in my philosophy for how I approach my professional and personal growth, and all provided through this initiative.

What would you share to encourage other people to join?

Besides the reasons I am interested and participating, YP is also always ahead of the curve with coming up new ideas, so opportunities are relevant, meaningful, and current - which is a huge benefit.

Did you grow up in Stark? If so, where? If not, where did you move from and why?

I went to Lake and resided in Stark County. I currently live outside of Stark, but work here.

Why do you stay in Stark County, from both a personal and professional point of view?

I am new to working in Stark County, but absolutely love it. I have been welcomed into the area and see a lot of synergy and collaboration in the partner agencies I am working with. I have also been intrigued to see how much the county has grown from years ago when I lived here. From a personal point of view, there is so much more to do now and the county is rapidly growing and adding as we speak.

What do you like MOST about Stark County?

I feel it is a growing area, but remains a welcoming area and people focused. It is great to feel you are a part of positive change and expansion, but also still feel connected to the roots of community.

What would you change about Stark County if you could?

I think just making sure Stark County continues to market itself, and bring external people in. I don't know if we are always doing this to the highest ability we could be doing so.

What do you see as valuable opportunities for YPs in Stark County when it comes to career opportunities, cultural access, leadership or community involvement opportunities?

Just continuing to have access opportunities and the ability to connect and learn. These being available through varying organizations and lines of work is key, and also making sure all of our agencies are talking to each other - across non-profit, private sector, governmental, corporate, etc.

What would attract more YPs to Stark County?

Continuing to grow and diversify, and add to the tourism scene.

What do you do in the evenings or on the weekends for fun in Stark County or NE Ohio?

First Friday, eating at many of the great restaurants, Maize Valley, Gervasi, visiting friends and family I have here - there is lots of things to do outside as well!

Could you see yourself spending your lifetime in Stark County and if not, what would cause you to leave?

Yes, I would love to stay here!
