Why are you interested in Stark County’s Young Professionals initiative? |
It interests me to meet, and network with fellow young professionals in Stark County. |
What would you share to encourage other people to join? |
The way I would encourage other people to join would be to market the value of meeting professionals from different backgrounds and different professions. This organization allows you to mingle with young business owners, and ambitious individuals learning the trades of their respective fields. |
Did you grow up in Stark? If so, where? If not, where did you move from and why? |
I did not grow up in Stark County, however I was born Canton, moved to a different country (Lebanon), and then moved back in 2013 for my sophomore year of college. I went to the University of Akron where I graduated in May 2017. |
Why do you stay in Stark County, from both a personal and professional point of view? |
The fact that I was born here and lived in Stark County throughout college was what made me stay from a personal standpoint. From a professional standpoint, it was a very nurturing environment for the growth of a real estate business that I have always been passionate about. We are very fortunate to be in an area where the value of housing is low compared to the rest of the country. |
What do you like MOST about Stark County? |
Stark County is a very interesting place where you feel that suburban lifestyle without being in a largely remote area. We are fortunate that we have an airport, and so many amenities that other places do not have. |
What would you change about Stark County if you could? |
The one thing I would change probably is the length of winter, we do not need those weeks of the low 20° weather! |
What do you see as valuable opportunities for YPs in Stark County when it comes to career opportunities, cultural access, leadership or community involvement opportunities? |
There is great value in networking with individuals who are accomplished and yet not so different in age, because those people can be easily communicated with. One simple conversation can change an individuals career path for the better I feel that this organization puts together an environment where that can happen. |
What would attract more YPs to Stark County? |
I believe as more organizations come in and realize the benefits of having a business and Stark County, that will intern attract more young professionals. There are many niche businesses that can work very well in this area. |
What do you do in the evenings or on the weekends for fun in Stark County or NE Ohio? |
I enjoy the company of friends wherever it would be, either at a restaurant, or in a bar setting, or even at their home. It doesn’t really matter where you are as long as you have good people to spend time with. |
Could you see yourself spending your lifetime in Stark County and if not, what would cause you to leave? |
I do not see myself leaving Stark County for good, I always think that I would like to have a home to come back to here. But if so I’d love to pick a place where the weather is more favorable all year round to more to do more outdoor activities. |
